“Delegation of the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to China Visits Tangshan Jidong Construction Technology Development Co., Ltd.”

On November 1, 2024, at the invitation of Liu Ye, Vice President of the China Building Materials Market Association (CBMA) and Chairman of APEX Universal Group, the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to China, Mr. H.E. Dosso Adama, led a delegation to visit Tangshan Jidong Construction Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jidong Technology), a coordinated production unit under the CBMA APEX Integration Center. The delegation included Côte d’Ivoire’s Economic Counselor Mr. Lorou Morton, the Ambassador’s Assistant Ms. Pauline, the Embassy’s Economic and Trade Consultant Mr. Wu Tong, and Ms. Guo Lijun, Director of the China-Arab Green Cooperation Center. The CBMA Party Secretary and Secretary General Ding Lizhong, Director of the Industry Development Department Shang Yang, General Manager of Jidong Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. Mr. Li Hongbo, Executive Director of Jidong Technology Mr. Xu Wenbo, and General Manager Jia Jin, Deputy General Manager Xiang Yichuan; Deputy General Manager Gai Qiuchen of Dunshi Construction along with other relevant leaders. Additionally, APEX Universal Group’s General Manager Mr. Jiang Tao, International Department General Manager Mr. Teng Zhang, and Marketing Department General Manager Mr. Ma Lei accompanied the delegation on their visit.

During this visit, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the housing needs in Côte d’Ivoire and the alignment of building technology standards. The discussions focused on the advantages of Chinese prefabricated buildings for the Ivorian market and explored ways to promote green, low-carbon, and sustainable development in prefabricated construction through bilateral cooperation. Following the discussions, the delegation toured Jidong Technology’s prefabricated building model houses and production workshops.

At the exchange meeting, Ambassador Adama expressed high praise and strong interest in China’s prefabricated building solutions. He noted that Côte d’Ivoire currently faces a shortage of building resources, with construction costs being prohibitively high. China’s prefabricated building system, a completely new and unprecedented construction method for Côte d’Ivoire, presents a substantial potential market. Both sides expressed a willingness for deeper cooperation and agreed to arrange a video conference with relevant Ivorian departments to further discuss implementing this system in Côte d’Ivoire.

This visit by the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire and his delegation has laid the groundwork for cooperation in prefabricated construction between the two countries, injecting new momentum into the promotion of green, low-carbon buildings. With joint efforts, China’s prefabricated buildings are set to flourish in Côte d’Ivoire, contributing to friendly cooperation and sustainable development between the two nations.
