On January 14, 2025, Beijing hosted a grand and meaningful event as the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Grenadian Embassy in China jointly organized a reception to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between China and Grenada.

The reception brought together friendly representatives from various sectors of both countries to witness this historic moment. Mr. Liu Ye, Chairman of Apex Universal Group Limited (hereinafter referred to as APEX), Mr. Jiang Tao, General Manager, and Mr. Ma Lei from the Marketing Department, attended the event as sponsor representatives. They were warmly invited by H.E. Ambassador Denis Antoine, Grenada’s Ambassador to China, to join the celebration and share in the joy with distinguished guests from both nations.

The presence of Mr. Hao Mingjin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, and Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell added gravitas to the event. Both parties emphasized that, over the past two decades, China and Grenada have strengthened their political trust, upheld mutual understanding, and pursued sincere cooperation and joint development, bringing tangible benefits to the Grenadian people.

During the event, Ambassador Antoine expressed his heartfelt gratitude to APEX for their sponsorship and presented the company with a certificate of recognition. Previously, APEX had engaged in in-depth discussions with Grenadian representatives on housing construction. The visit of Prime Minister Mitchell to China is expected to advance further collaboration between the two parties on Grenada’s “Project 500” housing initiative. This plan holds the promise of bringing new opportunities and momentum to Grenada’s economic development and social progress, improving living conditions for local residents, and fostering the development of infrastructure and related industries in Grenada.

The successful hosting of this reception highlighted the strong foundation and broad prospects of the friendly relations between China and Grenada over the past 20 years. Cooperation between the two nations in politics, economics, culture, and education has deepened, yielding fruitful results.
